Boy Scouts of America kick off 100th Anniversary Celebration

The W.D. Boyce Council, Boy Scouts of America, celebrated its 100th birthday today at the Peoria Service Center. It also marked the beginning of the Heroes of Scouting campaign and a national year long celebration. Heroes of Scouting will recognize five local heroes who attribute the success in their lives to the skills and characteristics Scouting has instilled in them.

The Peoria Chinese Association hosted its annual Chinese New Year Celebration at Dunlap High School on Sunday. Over 500 people enjoyed traditional Chinese food, music, and dance. In the photo above, the Dragon dance is performed. Click on the link to view all the great shots. Gong Shee!

Panthers Claw Eagles in Nest

PND won eight events at yesterday's Conference Meet and claimed its fifth consecutive conference title.

Woodruff High School alumni returned to Woodruff Pool yesterday to say a final farewell to the pool at the MS6 Conference Swimming and Diving Meet. Woodruff swimming alumni helped with the timing and scoring and passed out medals in the final high school meet at the pool. Woodruff HS will close at the end of this academic year. Visiting Richwoods was unstoppable Saturday as they mistreated the Dunlap Eagles on their home court 81-39. The Knights are currently ranked No. 1 in class 3A.

Inside Your Closet

Thursday evening, Creative Logic, Inc., organized the first of their quarterly events - Inside Your Closet at Waterstone Estate in Edwards, IL. Near 100 guests enjoyed the evening with great food from Cracked Pepper Catering, and many local, regional and national organizations and boutiques. The theme was "Everything a woman needs to look good and feel good, inside and out!" That's for sure! What a great time!

PND 2010 Girls Basketball Seniors

Angelin Chang Piano Concert

Internationally acclaimed pianist and GRAMMY Award Winner Angelin Chang performed at the Peoria Civic Center Theater this afternoon. Chang's concert supported the Peoria Joy Luck Club, and is part of the Civic Center's ongoing support of the many active ethnic associations in Peoria.
