Peoria Park District Spring Soccer
Every time I mention that our daughter is involved in Park District Spring Soccer, most parents or Grandparents nod, "Been there and done that!" Soccer is a wonderful sport for young kids. I love going to Detweiller Park and seeing fields full of energetic children at play. It is truly uplifting. Our daughter enjoys playing soccer and I am a proud "Soccer Mom"! PND Baseball Seniors 2009
PND seniors were honored at their last home game against RHS on May 21. It was a make-up game and the umpires were over an hour late. Ching wasn't able to catch any of the game because her daughter had a soccer game. But she was there to snap some photos of the seniors and their families. Way to go, guys. It's been a great four years.Thursday, May 21, 2009

Alamo Scouts Reunion 2009
Members of the famed Alamo Scouts of WWII and their families and friends pose for a group photo at the Alamo Scouts annual reunion held in Moline on May 13-16.
Alamo Scout Bill Littlefield watches himself on television on Thursday during the premier of the History Channel program, "Warriors with Terry Schappert." Littlefield led 13 missions behind enemy lines during the war.
Lt. General David P. Fridovich, Director of the Special Operations Command, delivers the keynote address at the reunion banquet. Fridovich is the nation's senior special operations soldier and a graduate of Knox College.
Historian Lt. Colonel George Eaton, USA (ret.), hosted the reunion and donned traditional Scottish dress for the banquet. Eaton is also a graduate of Knox College, but Lance, a graduate of nearby Monmouth College, positioned a well-placed reminder of the ongoing rivalry. Go Scots!
Alamo Scouts Historian Lance Zedric (left) is presented a surprise award by his daughter, Ariel, while Association Executive Director Russ Blaise looks on.

Hubby on History Channel
My husband, Lance (right) and Green Beret Terry Schappert (left), examine WWII equipment during the filming of "Warriors--with Terry Schappert." The show will air on Thursday, at 9pm CST on the History Channel. The season finale will focus on the Alamo Scouts, a WWII forerunner of the Special Forces. Don't miss it! Visit the "Warriors" website at http://www.history.com/minisites/warriors.
Lance and Alamo Scout team leader, Wilbur Littlefield (foreground), drive onto the set in a 1941 Willy's jeep. Lance is the historian for the Alamo Scouts and the author of "Silent Warriors: The Alamo Scouts Behind Japanese Lines," and other books on military special forces. To learn more about the Alamo Scouts go to http://www.alamoscouts.org/, or to check out Lance's other books click on http://www.alamoscouts.org/book/silent_warriors.htm

Sydney & Reese
Last Sunday I photographed Sydney and her baby brother, Reese, and their large family. Every time I photograph a family it feels like a celebration of life--with all the beauty of youth, the wisdom and kindness of age, and the love of both.
